Why give?

Sadly, support to bereaved parents is insufficient, including in the Canberra region.

While there are wonderful national organisations providing support through Canberra hospitals, there isn’t enough for everyone, and many parents leave hospital without receiving any support.

Help us ensure they don’t slip through the cracks.

Love From Penny & Lyla is the only organisation in the Canberra region offering this type of support.

What happens when you make a donation?

  • Purchase

    We purchase a batch of carefully considered and curated items, from local business, businesses who have specific memorial items for pregnancy and baby loss, and businesses run by loss parents.

  • Collate and Pack

    Our boxes and bags are hand packed by Penny & Lyla’s mum, one of our team, or by a beautiful volunteer. Each box is carefully prepared with love for the parents who will receive it.

  • Deliver

    Our care boxes and bags are delivered directly to Canberra area hospitals and clinics by our team.

  • Give

    The care boxes are then provided by health staff to parents whose baby has passed away.

  • Fundraise

    The cycle starts again. We rely completely on donations for the provision of care boxes to bereaved parents.

    100% of donated funds go towards care box and bag items.

How does it work?

Love From Penny & Lyla is a registered third party fundraiser under the Canberra Hospitals Foundation. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.

When you choose to donate, you will be taken to our registered donation page on the Canberra Hospitals’ Foundation site.

Donate a box in memory of a loved one.

If you’d like to donate the cost of a whole box, we would be honoured if you’d like to donate in memory of someone special.

Our entire project is based around the principle of acts of kindness in the name of loved ones who are no longer with us. It’s about sharing love, compassion, and connection with others when they need it.

We are honoured to share the names of those who have been lost so their impact lives on.

If you’d like to donate a care box in memory of a loved one, please donate the cost of a box ($170) and then contact us with your details and what you’d like written on the card, so we can include it with the box.
